Are you legally in US i.e. can you travel in and out of US?
If not, then this forum may not be of use to you as the forum exlcusively addresses the issues surrounding legal immigration
Are you authorized to work in US i.e. do you have a social security number that is valid for employment
If yes, then you should report the abusing woman to police. If not, then you maybe in viloation of US employment and immigration laws

My wife is planning to go to India this month.. Her H-4 expires on Jan 31st...
My H-1 also expires on Jan31st and I am applying for my H-1 extension..
But we don't have the AP approved yet, we have the receipts of AP and 485.
Can she go to India and come back with the AP after her AP is approved (I will mail it to India.)?????
Please Advice, If this would abandon her AOS.

I have a similar question. My EB-3 PD is August 2005 (I-140 was approved but I never filed the I-485 because of retrogression). Few months back I found out that the employer had withdrawn/revoked the I-140. Now my employer is getting ready to file my EB-2 I-140 and my question is: Can we retain/interfile the priority date from 2005? I know the answer is yes but I am looking for examples where any fellow member was able to successfully do so. Thanks!

My friend has his I-485 filed and has got EAD/AP, but the priority date is so behind, that he has no chance of getting a green card before his marriage. So, as I understand he should be able to bring his wife on H4 (as long as he maintains H1). My question is: does he have to re-file for I-485 to include his wife and if so will the priority date remain the same as the first application?She needs to file her own I-485 but only when PD become current. She has the same PD as primary applicant.

Family based green cards take a longish amount of time 5 yrs or so and your wife cannot enter US in that period. So if you plan to live with your wife in the US in the mean time here is an idea you can consider:
Give up your green card, then come back with H1 and your wife on H4 then reapply - you might get your green cards in 3-4 months because your 140 has an older priority date.

Hi one of my relative has cleared the US citizenship exam. He is waiting for the oath. He want to visit canada after a month. Before the canada visit I think the oath will be done and he will become citizen of US. He can not get the US passport instantly.

Harry Reid says he's got 60 votes to support an immigration reform bill. That's a pretty confident tone he's taking and I hope he's right. And for those of you who say that you don't have provisions in the bill helping your group - particularly employment immigration advocates - I'll remind you that the immigration reform bill is what is standing in the way of many other bills moving forward. We (I and my wife) filed for 485/EAD/AP on July 27 2007. We received all documents (receipt#, AP, FP etc) except EAD for my wife. The case status online shows her EAD application was received and pending. So on Jan 24th we put a Service Request for her EAD application. Yesterday we received a letter from USCIS with the following information --
The status ofthis service request is:
WAC-XX-XXX-XXXXX
Your 1-765 application was administratively closed on 0112912008.
If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.
If anyone has similar experience or know why they would close a case without giving any information or RFE/NOID etc? I tried calling them but the IO couldn't provide any further info.
